2011 Sourwood Festival
Downtown Black Mountain NC
Since 1977, The Black Mountain Sourwood Festival has brought fun and entertainment to the streets of downtown Black Mountain. In addition to the food and craft booths, the festival features local and regional musical entertainment throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.
The festival, sponsored by the Black Mountain-Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce, is named after the regions important honey source, the Sourwood tree, which blooms in mid to late summer each year.
Birdhouses, handmade furniture, custom jewelry, local soap and fine art are just a few of the crafts offered at Sourwood Festival. For one weekend in August each year, the Sourwood Festival fills downtown Black Mountain with wholesome entertainment for both adults and children.
With highlights like authentic arts and crafts; face-painting, bouncy rides and cotton candy for children; musical acts and dancing; fresh-squeezed lemonade and hot-off-the-grill BBQ, there’s something for everyone at the Sourwood Festival presented by the Black Mountain-Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce. The music lineup for the festival is as follows:
